This past year when I turned my side-hustle into my full time job, I knew I needed to step up my game in my processes and ensure that I looked and felt like a professional, legit business. After a lot of research I finally decided to utilize Dubsado’s platform to manage projects and communicate with clients.

With so many tools in one place, I love that I don’t need a separate platform for every aspect of my business. So, with that in mind I thought I’d share some of my favorite features here:

Workflows

Part of the reason I went into my freelance business was for the flexibility to work when and where I wanted. And that’s one of the reasons I love the ability to automate parts of my business. By setting up a workflow someone can submit an inquiry on my website, receive an email with all the information they could need, and set up a discovery call with me, all while I am focusing on creative work, at an afternoon workout, or on vacation. And I love that these workflows can work so differently for every business. For me, I automate the beginning inquiry process since I typically give the same information and answer the same questions, but I customize a little more when it comes to the project.

Scheduler

Deciding on a date and time for meetings might be my least favorite thing. There’s so much back and forth that wastes everyone’s time and is so unnecessary. The moment I found out Dubsado was adding this feature, I was sold. People can book calls and meetings with me for times I’m available without any effort on my end and only a click of a button on theirs.

Time Tracker

As a designer I often work by the hour, so with a time tracker built in to the same system as my project schedule and invoices, I can conveniently apply the time to the invoice each time I work.

Contracts and Invoices

I’m embarrassed to say that up until not that long ago I was using pdf contracts and invoices where clients literally had to print them out and sign it or send me a check in the mail. This was not only less convenient for my clients, but because of the extra hassle it took more time to get projects started and more time to get PAID (and who wants to wait long for that?!). I definitely could have found a separate website to send digital documents but the fact that through Dubsado they connect right to my client’s account and project is amazing.

I’m sure, if you’re anything like me, you’ve been reading (or plan on) reading countless blogs and platform about pages because it’s so hard to tell what will work best for YOU, but luckily Dubsado offers a free month trial to really know for yourself if this can impact your business.

Plus, when you sign up you can use code CHRISTIE for 20% off.
