Another Sweatworking Week just wrapped with aSweatLife, and once again I’m filled with appreciation for this community. After a year deprived of in-person human interaction, there was no better feeling than a post-workout dinner on the bleachers with so many of the friends I’ve accumulated over the last three years. Brought back to our high school days, we were the cool kids in those bleachers– not because it was an exclusive group, but just the opposite. As they say at aSweatLife, everything is better with friends and it’s hard to find a more welcoming group than this one.
After just moving to Chicago, with a solo job and no potential for new work friends, I knew I needed to find a community in a different way. I already loved group fitness so when I came across a post on instagram about aSweatLife, I dove in. My first workout was at Row House. I remember the cold, early morning, 1.5 mile trek to the studio, feeling anxious and totally unsure of what to expect. However, when I arrived I was immediately brought into a group, completely skipping over the awkwardness that is approaching new people. From there I was in. No matter what the workout, I signed up.
So naturally when the time came in the fall to apply to the ambassadorship it was a no brainer. Access to more events, discounted studios of the month, all the swag, and even more community, connections, and support. I couldn’t sign up fast enough. Any goal I’ve made has been easier with this group. They’ve been training partners for my first triathlon and supporters when I launched my new course. And beyond everything else, the ambassadorship has been an opportunity for an endless number of new experiences.
The aSweatLife ambassadorship just reopened for 2022 and I would love to see you at all the ambassador events! Join here!
