I’ve been working with Rachel Pierce since 2020 when we created her first branding and website and it’s been amazing to watch her grow professionally and personally, adding virtual group programs, becoming a mom, and doubling down on her values.
Rachel continuously communicates and represents the balance of grit and grace. Training in a way that promotes growth while accounting for busy lives and unexpected challenges. Now, she’s finding that same sweet spot with her new in-person strength studio in KC, where you’ll experience a beautiful, premium space with a workout that takes grit and builds STRENGTH. So of course the brand identity we created for this new studio had to reflect that paradox.
When it comes to fitness branding, every detail matters. From the moment potential clients see your logo to the colors that greet them on your website, your brand identity speaks volumes about your values, approach, and the experience you offer. Today, I’m excited to share the strategic branding process behind Studio P, Rachel’s new strength-focused fitness studio in Kansas City.
The branding challenge was creating a fitness branding system that would visually communicate the paradox at the heart of Rachel’s approach: delivering workouts that require grit while building genuine strength in a beautiful, premium environment. The brand needed to attract women who understood that true strength comes from the balance of pushing hard and moving gracefully through life’s challenges.

The primary logo for Studio P needed to work across multiple applications – from website headers to apparel – while maintaining perfect readability. The design strategy focused on several key elements:
Clean Lines with Personality: The minimal font feels modern and elevated, while unique shapes give it extra character. The all-caps letterforms create a sense of strength and poise, essential for effective fitness branding.
Meaningful Details: The hexagon shapes throughout the wordmark weren’t chosen randomly – they reference the shape of dumbbells, a main element that sets this studio apart from the typical boutique studio methodology.
Versatile Applications: The logo system includes multiple variations:
The color palette plays a crucial role in this fitness branding strategy. Rather than typical high-energy neon colors often associated with fitness and strength, Studio P’s palette brings in calming, natural earth tones that emphasize wellness and grit.
Strategic Color Choices:
This palette attracts an audience who wants to feel more grounded and put together, differentiating Studio P from competitors who might feel too chaotic or overwhelming.
The typography combination brings together a serif font bold enough to match the strength and grittiness the studio promotes, while feeling softer and more editorial than a super clean sans serif.
Font Hierarchy:

The Studio P icon isn’t just a pretty mark – it’s loaded with intentional symbolism. The line down the center represents the paradoxical nature of the brand: strength and grit meets composed and grounded movement. It also reflects shapes found in a capital “P,” creating a subtle brand connection.
Like the wordmark, the icon utilizes a hexagon shape referencing the dumbbell-based studio, ensuring every element of the fitness branding system works together cohesively.
This fitness branding project successfully created a visual identity that:

Creating effective fitness branding requires more than just a pretty logo – it demands strategic thinking, meaningful design choices, and professional implementation. Studio P’s brand identity demonstrates how thoughtful branding can differentiate your fitness business and attract your ideal clients.
Whether you’re launching a new fitness studio or refreshing an existing brand, remember that your visual identity is often the first impression potential clients have of your business. Make it count with a brand that truly represents your values, speaks to your audience, and supports your business goals.
